Today I received an email response from Toni Payseno Oregon State Fair and Expo Center Manager to a letter I wrote her a few days ago and it looks promising that there will be racing this winter. She writes "...We have concluded our review process and are pleased to say we are able to offer solutions and plan to meet with Mr. Leach in the near future. I appreciate you taking time to write and especially your offer to help in various capacities to ensure racing continues at the fairgrounds. That speaks highly of your passion and commitment to the racing program." (I had offered to clean restrooms or whatever would be helpful... so we'll see if our letters made a difference. I think they did...

Save Salem Indoor Update 10/6/12 @ 1:20am: Loooong meeting. then longer after meeting-meeting. Briefly, we have been given the opportunity to get Salem Indoor back as of November 1st, we would then have to build the track, which would put the first race somewhere around the 15th.
There are 3 issues Bob and I objected to, 1 of which is a deal breaker. Matt Rippee (fair operations manager) said we had valid points and would try and resolve all 3 issues next week.
We are optimistic that Matt will resolve these issues by Wed or Thur of next week......Sorry for not being specific but trying to give Matt time to prove himself....stay tuned
