Hi, I'm new to this board today. Not a lurker, just found it while searching online for other stuff. I post on several other forums, but none powered by ProBoards, so I'm unfamiliar w/this board's format.
I cover Northwest racing on my Facebook page, Northwest Track Shots. Please visit and like my page. The focus is mainly on motorcycle flat track racing, but I'll sometimes also cover other types of events locally and in other areas on a whim. You just never know... I can't cover every race of every series in the area, but I try to hit as many as I can. Besides covering lots of amateur events in Oregon and Washington, this year I also covered the 5 western rounds of the AMA Pro Flat Track series in Washington and California. I covered several amateur events in California, too.

I attended the Salem motorcycle season opener on Nov 2. This race report was first posted on my Facebook page. There are also more photos on that page.
"It was exciting to have the newly crowned AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National and Pro Singles champions in the house at last night's opening round of the Salem, Ore., indoor flat track series. But, really, the only thing different from before were the number plates. Brad Baker and Wyatt Maguire are Northwest racing regulars, and on any night at the track they're just part of the family.
Baker won the Open Expert and 450 Expert dashes and main events handily. Brother Scott Baker and Davis Fisher took the 2nd and 3rd place spots in 450, and then swapped those results in the Open class. Maguire had to play catch-up from the start in the Open class, made some great passes, and finished 4th in the end. Fisher won the 250 Expert class main event over Brandon Green and Dominic Cameron.
There was a very good turnout of Quad racers. Brett Gunter won a very exciting Quad Open main event, where everyone in the 12-rider class was from Washington state. Mckenna Mowatt took the Womens Quad main event win in a field of 5 riders, all from Washington.
Bobby Ingle, David Kohstaedt and Hale Bachman each enjoyed multiple class victories. See See Motor Coffee Company's Thor Drake rode to a 250 Vintage main event win.
Bob Leach and his crew put on a great show, moving approximately 150 class entries through 23 main events and finishing right on the 10 pm curfew. This, despite delays from a number of heat race crashes that saw Brandon Green, Gavin Barrett and Parker Fitzhugh all take hard tumbles. Green took his time getting up after his bike's oil filler cap came loose during the Open Sport heat and wet the rear tire, slapping him down on the front straight. He would return to finish 3rd in the main event. Barrett fell in the last turn of the last lap of the 65 DTX heat. Medics were quickly at his side and he walked off the track minutes later. Barrett came back to finish 5th in his main. Novice rider Parker Fitzhugh had a scary crash in the 250 Sport heat. Coming out of the 4th turn, he hit another rider's fallen bike, flew over his handlebars and landed against the front straight wall. Although he appeared to be OK, medics decided to have Fitzhugh checked out at the hospital and his evening ended with an ambulance ride."
You can download photos from my Facebook and Smug Mug pages for free. The albums have the same names on both sites. The images on Smug Mug are much larger and better for downloads. Here are a few pics via Smug Mug, starting with the Open Expert grid, which featured both new AMA Pro Flat Track champs, Brad Baker (1 black) and Wyatt Maguire (1 red), along with fast guys Eric Rickman (33W), Kenan Duncan (44), Scott Baker (11), Davis Fisher (67) and Austin Helmholz (16M) . Shown in the next two photos are Matt Schweitzer (39), and Brandon Green (10) .
